DAG 4.3S Single Channel Network Monitoring card

Dag 5.4 product shot

The Endace® DAG® 4.3S Network Monitoring Card provides 2.488 Gbps sustained lossless traffic capture and inspection on SONET/SDH OC-48/STM-16c 2.5G Packet-Over-SONET (POS) and ATM networks. With the power to see all traffic even on high speed links operating at full line utilisation, the DAG 4.3S enables operators to develop solutions that inspect all traffic on their core and peering network links as well as data centre uplinks for security threats, and precisely measure network performance to identify issues that may affect mission-critical applications and time-sensitive services.

CoProcess or Application: IP Filtering

  • Requires an Endace DAG CoProcessor expansion card that uses no additional bus slots.
  • Receive, classify, and drop or capture packets based on network layer 3 and 4 header information. For example, packets can be captured based on IPv4 and TCP headers.
  • Supports HDLC Packet-Over-SONE T and Compressed PPP encapsulations.
  • Allows up to 16,384 filtering rules.
  • Each rule allows every packet to be compared against a search key and dropped, captured or duplicated using either full or header only capture.
  • Performs on the fly ’hitless’ rule changes with zero packet loss.

CoProcess or Application: ATM Adaptation Layer 5 (AAL5) Reassembly

  • Requires an Endace DAG CoProcessor expansion card that uses no additional bus slots.
  • Hardware based AAL5 Reassembly assists with the monitoring of highly utilized ATM links by shifting intensive computation from the CPU to the Endace CoProcesssor.
  • Supports up to 65,536 simultaneously active Virtual Paths (VPs) / Virtual Connections (VCs).
  • Supports simultaneous reassembly of up to 65,536 AAL5 frames.
  • Reassembly buffers configurable between 2K and 64K bytes.
  • Performs automatic VP/VC discovery and state management.
  • Selected VP/VCs may be excluded by the application interface.
  • Supports up to 5.1 Mcells/s cell reassemblyon OC48c/STM-16c.
  • Rich statistics, counters, and timeouts.
