Endace Honored Among Top Products at 5th Annual Security Summit

Judges impressed by NinjaBox-Z running a full SNORT® ruleset on saturated high speed
links without dropping a packet

Auckland, New Zealand, and Chantilly, VA June 18, 2008 - Endace Limited (LSE/AIM: EDA), a world leader in
network monitoring solutions, today announced that an international panel of judges selected the company’s
NinjaBox-Z series 2000 server as Runner Up in the 5th annual “Most Innovative Security Products and Services”
competition hosted at The Security Summit in San Diego, CA.

Chosen from more than 30 competing technologies for its innovation, direct applicability to current market needs
and dual-use capabilities in the private and government sectors, the NinjaBox-Z enables multiple network
monitoring applications to run in parallel. Each NinjaBox-Z platform is preconfigured with Endace Data
Acquisition and Generation (DAG®) interface cards running on an optimized, multi-core Linux server. Traffic is
load-balanced across the x86 CPUs, allowing NinjaBox-Z to analyze every packet in real-time on highly utilized
links up to 10 Gbps.

“We showed the judges a Snort Network Intrusion Detection System (NIDS) with a full untuned ruleset that runs at
multi gigabit speeds without a single dropped packet,” said Stephen Gleave, VP Marketing at Endace. “While
acting as a single sensor, our load-balancing techniques spread the traffic across eight separate instances of
Snort. Each CPU core was operating at only around twenty percent utilization.”

Gleave added that Snort and NTOP (network traffic probe) can run simultaneously on the same NinjaBox-Z and
still analyze every packet. “This impressed the judges because it demonstrates that businesses can reduce costs
by using open-source monitoring and analysis applications running on fewer servers.”

“The Endace NinjaBox-Z series stood out as a technology effectively addressing a current need in the market to
enhance regional and international security,” said Michael B. Jones, President of The Security Network. “The
innovation and multi-use applicability was very impressive among the technologies featured at this year’s
competition.”
